I installed it, and it's looking good. They seriously need to increase the number of lens profiles, though.

Really? Wow about time. I haven't heard anything from Adobe yet. But I'll go look and download if I can.

I just downloaded it and installed it. As a non-beta user, this is my first exposure. Looking forward to playing more with the new features.

I like it so far, its a bit slower than i would like but its probably good enough. The skin tones still aren't quite there which is a shame, but it is better than LR2.

The other upgrades are really nice, I just hope i don't get sucked in to getting too carried away with grain. It looks cool but it is not my style. The same way that a lot of people seem to add vignettes to their images. It gets old fast.

6 attempts to pay by Paypal, then it finally went through. But now seems to be stuck in the u-bend on the way down! Oh well, it will be here quicker than by post.
Cant wait to be start using this version, it will be nice to be on the latest offering right from the start as I waited quite a while to upgrade to LR2.

Been trialling Apature 3 as well, but cant seem to click with it yet. Although I do like some of it.

No Lightroom 3 for me. Not until I get a new system. Adobe dropped support for Power PC Macs in this version. LR 3 is Intel only.

I hate buying a new system. It' not the money (well, it's not only the money), it's that it take a couple of weeks of installing and tweaking before I'm comfortable with it. I'm going to have to bite the bullet soon, though. Too many new Mac software releases are Intel only.

Have you read about the Mac migration assistant? I'm pretty sure it sets up your new system, just like the old one.

My Mac upgrades usually take like 3 hours, 2.5 hours of which I am just watching a progress bar of the migration assistant. Al is right, there is no need to build up a new system from scratch ... which still would not take days in my case.

I've not only read about the migration assistant, I used it to upgrade from Tiger to Leopard. However, I don't think it's going to do much for me this time because I don't want the new system to be clone of the old one. My purpose in buying a new Macintosh is to obtain a system on which I can install all the new Intel-only software releases that I've been forced to pass up.

I hope I'm wrong and you're right, but I really think I understand my situation pretty well and my estimate is realistic. I remain convinced I will spend a week or two of obtaining and installing software and fiddling with Snow Leopard before I'm happy with my new Macintosh.

One of the best features I like about LR3 is the ability to upload directly to Flickr.

So I guess you know what I might say next. Not meaning to put any pressure on Martin to arrange this, but I would love to be able to directly upload to the MBP Galleries.

Hallo everybody
Does somebody know if LR 3 supports the Canon 50D in when it comes to Tethered shooting?
Adobe wrote, “… tethered capture, available for select cameras …” but I can’t find any proper supported camera list.
I know LR3 Beta 2 didn’t support this camera does any body know if this has change in LR 3?
Kind regards Stephanie

Hee hee.

Unfortunately, unless someone in the Coppermine community (the people that made the gallery software) come up with a plugin, I won't be able to provide this. If I actually still thought Coppermine was any good, I'd probably even look into coding a plugin myself, but the Coppermine gallery is outdated and under-maintained, and the community is run by a bunch of fascist dictators that don't induce much positive community involvement.

When I have time, I'll look into migrating the galleries to a better base software, and it will probably have a Lightroom plugin from the get-go.
