Admin Activation of New mbpgalleries Accounts

Due to the ridiculous amount of spam that we are now getting in the mbpgalleries.com web site, we have decided to turn on the admin activation of new user accounts. I didn't want to do this, but it's becoming beyond a joke.

If anyone new here registers a legitimate account, that we don't activate quickly, please contact me via PM or the [urlhttp://blog.martinbaileyphotography.com/contact/]contact form[/url], including the user name that you used when you registered in your message.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but the pond life spammers seem to have much more time on their hands that me and the other admins. Your understanding and patience is very much appreciated.

Aah I obviously misread your post, I thought you said new users to the 'FORUM' not 'MBPGALERIES', I wasn't aware of spam in the galleries, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE turn this feature on for the FORUM as well, I'm fed up of the taste of SPAM, SPAM, SPAM eggs, bacon, sausage and SPAM

OK, so as I mentioned in another thread, today I've updated the forum software, and there have been some antispambot changes that might help us to keep the spammers out. I'll try a few different settings over this next few days, but If it doesn't work, we'll turn have to turn on the Admin authorization of new accounts. I didn't want to do this, but it seems things are pretty much out of hand now.

I can see your trying hard to get this under control, I'm sure the *real* users will stick around and give you some time to sort it out, lets hope its all sorted before you go to Antartica.

Just need to sell a few thousand photos to pay for the trip adn the big glass to go with it.
