I was born 1967 in Nottingham, England. Having bought my first camera at the age of fifteen during a family holiday, I fell in love
with Photography. This love was fired furiously after moving to Japan in 1991, and spending most of the last 17 years here. Although
the fuel for the fire initially came from the totally different culture, I quickly gravitated back to nature and wildlife photography
that first drew me into photography.
I bought my first Canon SLR camera, an EOS 630, during my first year here in 1991 and I have been a Canon user ever since.
I quickly moved on to a Canon EOS 100 and this was my main camera for the next 9 years. In 2000 I finally made the jump to digital with
a Canon PowerShot S10 compact digital, but having used and SLR for 9 years this was quite a step down.
Now hooked on digital, but not able to satisfy my creative needs with a point and shoot, I bought the revolutionary Canon EOS D30.
I've since used the 10D, 20D and 5D, but my main camera now is the full sized sensor Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III.
In 2008 I started to hold photography tours/workshops here in Japan, sharing my knowlege of photography and Japan, with it's wonderful wildlife and landscape shooting locations with workshop participants.
Check out the MBP Workshops Web site for details of future photography tours and workshops.
